Mile High Perfect Biscuits I have spent a long, long, lonnnnnnnnnnnng time searching for and perfecting this biscuit recipe.And I am happy to report that it was well worth the wait and the effort!! My quest began in college. I moved to Utah from North Carolina to go to school, and I quickly discovered one staple food that Utah does not have: fluffy, buttery, golden biscuits. I tried a few recipes here and there without much luck, and eventually resigned myself to the frozen dough variety. And you can cheerfully use a dry or semi-dry from anywhere in the world. I have nothing against the regular coq au vin, but I might actually prefer this sprightlier version. It's certainly easier to make: in place of all those whole baby onions, which have to be peeled one by one, you can just chop your onions the usual and considerably less bothersome way. Sous Vide Cinnamon Spiced Apples Warm cinnamon spiced apples are like baked apples — only better. I love how tender and buttery these apples become due to the long slow cooking time. I also love not having to get through the apple peel to enjoy the sweet apple goodness. The only concern I had when making this recipe was wondering if the butter would melt out as the apples cooked sous vide, so I mixed the butter and spices with raisins and dates to bind the filling. Must Try Fall Drink: 2 Ingredient Apple Cider Mimosas Apple cider mimosas are the perfect fall twist on a classic drink. These are great for brunch or any occasion that calls for champagne! I first saw these apple cider mimosas on Delish‘s Facebook page, they shared a video for them which I also shared in my newsletter last month. They used some caramel vodka which sounds awesome but I wanted a bit more traditional and to keep it easy. And you really can’t get any easier than two ingredients. Ingredients 2 oz. apple cider2 oz. champagnecinnamon sugar, optionalapple slices, optional Directions Dip the rim of a champagne glass in water. Dip in cinnamon sugar to rim the glass.Pour 2 oz. of apple cider in the glass and top with 2 oz. (or more) of champagne. Garnish with apple slices, if desired. Serve immediately.
